Vehicle Plans

Vehicle Plans are used to add different aftermarket products to your deals, and provide additional value to your customers. Some examples:

  • VSC (Vehicle Service Contracts/Extended Warranties)
  • GAP (Guaranteed Asset Protection)
  • VSI (Vendor's Single Interest, theft protection)
  • Appearance Protection (dents, scratches, paint)
  • Tire and Wheel (flats, wheel damage)

Edit Vehicle Plan

When editing your vehicle plan, you can set a series of defaults that will show up on your deal. Many of these values you can also modify on the deal vehicle plans dialog.

  • Disabled - Controls whether the vehicle plan is displayed in new deals.
  • Name - The label or name of the vehicle plan. This could include the vendor's name if you have multiple plans of the same type from different vendors.
  • Description - A description of what's included in the vehicle plan. This is used on the vehicle plan menus printed from deals.
  • Type - The type of the vehicle plan. This type changes how the vehicle plan gets added to forms, as well as whether it is taxed for your pricing structure.
    • VSC Contract
    • GAP Contract
    • VSI Contract
    • Other
  • Printed by Default - Controls whether the vehicle plan is automatically included on the printed vehicle plans menu by default.
  • Tier - Which tier on the vehicle plan menu should this vehicle plan be in.
  • Include in Upper Tiers - Includes this vehicle plan in its own tier as well as any higher tiers. This can be useful for something like a GAP contract where the price is the same regardless of which product tier you select.
  • Default Price - The default price that loads in when you select this vehicle plan on a deal.
  • Default Cost - The default cost that loads in when you select this vehicle plan on a deal.
  • Vendor - The default vendor that loads in when you select this vehicle plan on a deal.
  • Default Income Account - The income account to record sales for this vehicle plan in.
  • Default Payable Account - The account to record liabilities for this vehicle plan in.
  • Default COGS Account - The cost account to record cost of goods sold for this vehicle plan in.
