Selecting a Customer

When creating one of the following Items, you'll be presented with a dialog to select a customer.

Depending on the Item you're creating, different dropdown options will appear at the top of the dialog. Be sure to fill these out, and then move on to creating a new customer or finding an existing one.

Creating a New Customer

You can select a new customer by creating them.

  1. Enter in the customer's information in the information boxes in the dialog.
    • There's no specific information that's required, but we recommend entering at least a First Name and Last Name when creating a new customer.
  2. Once you're done entering customer information, click the Create New Customer button at the bottom of the dialog.

Finding an Existing Customer

You can select an existing customer by searching for them.

  1. Start typing in the First Name (Or Search Term) field. If a match is found, a dropdown will show with options for you to select.
    • The shown dropdown will list the 5 most recently modified customers first, and then a list of matched customers ordered by last name.
  2. Once you've found a customer, click Next at the bottom of the selection dialog, or you can update the customer's information.
TIP

You can search the following values in the search field: first name, last name, preferred email address, and preferred phone number.

Updating Existing Customer

After you select a customer, any modifications to any of the fields (such as changing the address, adding driver's license information, etc.) will require you to either click Create New Customer or click Update Existing Customer.

If you accidentally selected an existing customer from the dropdown and then modified their information to be correct, you'd want to click Create New Customer. Otherwise, if you're simply updating customer information and you selected the correct existing customer from the system, you can click Update Existing Customer.
