When creating one of the following Items, you'll be presented with a dialog to select a customer.
Depending on the Item you're creating, different dropdown options will appear at the top of the dialog. Be sure to fill these out, and then move on to creating a new customer or finding an existing one.
You can select a new customer by creating them.
You can select an existing customer by searching for them.
You can search the following values in the search field: first name, last name, preferred email address, and preferred phone number.
After you select a customer, any modifications to any of the fields (such as changing the address, adding driver's license information, etc.) will require you to either click Create New Customer or click Update Existing Customer.
If you accidentally selected an existing customer from the dropdown and then modified their information to be correct, you'd want to click Create New Customer. Otherwise, if you're simply updating customer information and you selected the correct existing customer from the system, you can click Update Existing Customer.
